Math
Students will receive math homework most evenings. It will usually be the Math Expressions homework/remembering page from the day's lesson. Math homework is always due the following day.
Reading
Students should read for about 30 minutes each night of the week.
Word Study
The first day of each week, students will be given a pre-test on a particular spelling pattern. Students who achieve 80% accuracy will be given a list of challenge words to study for the week. Students score less than 80% accuracy will be given a list of grade level words to study that week. Students should study the 10 assigned pattern words listed in their agendas and the 5 high frequency words taken from their individualized list for the spelling test on Friday.  On the final test, there will be an additional 10 words that follow the same pattern.  Students are not expected to study these words ahead of time.  Please assist your child in preparing for the test by making sure he or she completes three word study activities from the Tic Tac Toe chart each week. Students must turn Tic Tac Toe chart and activities in on Fridays.

Word Study Unit 13 Week 1:

This week in Word Study we are learning about plural nouns.  At home, you can help your child practice making words that are made plural by adding –s or –es.
