Class Notes
This is going to be a learning-filled week! In science, we will be transplanting the Brassica plants we planted last week. With the help of our grow light and self-watering system, they made great progress over the weekend. We will know just how much progress later this week when we start a graph tracking their growth. In reading, we are focusing on determining cause and effect while reading. We continue to build stamina for reading and working independently while I am reading with small groups. This week in writing, we will turn our simple beginning, middle, and end stories into interest grabbing small moment stories. In math, we continue to practice addition and subtraction strategies. We are talking a lot about the different methods we use to solve problems and students learned about "QISWA", a five step process for solving math word problems. Students identify the Question and the important Information, they choose a Strategy, show their Work, and label their final Answer. This process helps students to stay organized while problem solving. Thank you for checking in this week!
